KIM PIDDINGTON

Kim is a California-native now living in Ozark, Missouri with a stable full of horses. She taught middle grade for 20 years, has been a member of the National Writing Project for more than 15 years, and is a member of ALAN along with several local writing groups including the Springfield Writers' Guild. She is on the executive board for the Language Arts Department of SW Missouri, which hosts one of the longest-running and largest writing competitions for children. She served as ARA for 2 years and as RA for three years for the SCBWI Missouri, and was the Co-Director for Youth Programs at the Ozark Writing Project at MO State Univ. Her manuscript The Summer of 1925 won first place in the Pike's Peak Writer's Fiction Contest, Children’s Category.  When she's not writing or reading, walking her 3 dogs and cleaning out the stables, she enjoys gardening, traveling with her husband Dan, or baking with her daughters Amber and Kelsey.
